Ahead of the Saturday’s governorship election in Edo state, there appears to be major crack in the camp of All Progressive Congress; which has created crises of confidence among the key stakeholders of the party in the state.
The crises, according to a director of the APC campaign council in the state, is centred on alleged financial mismanagement which amounts to over 2 billion naira.
It was gathered that Captain Idahosa Wells Okunbo, a major financier of Ize-Iyamu campaign, summoned a director in the Edo State APC campaign council, following complaints of lack of funding by some chieftains of the party.
The said director informed Captain Hosa that the sum of 2 billion naira can’t not be accountable for.
An Aide of Captain Hosa, who doesn’t want his name to be mentioned because he has not be authorized to speak on the matter, confirmed that his principal is highly displeased with the lack of transparency in the management of campaign funds.
Captain Hosa’s aide further revealed that the business mogul felt betrayed and it’s said to pull out of the campaign.
It was also gathered that the grand rally of Pastor Ize-Iyamu that was scheduled for Wednesday (Sept 16), could not hold because of the refusal of Captain Hosa to release funds for the project.
For fair reportage, this medium tried reach out to the Spokesman of the Edo state APC campaign council, Prince John Mayaki, but his lines were switched off.
