A former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State and an aspirant for 2022 governorship election in the state, Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka, has felicitate muslims in the state on the Eld-el-fitri celebration.
In a letter that he personally signed, the former Deputy governor enjoined Muslim faithfuls in Ekiti state and across the country to use the opportunity of the end of the holy month and the commencement of a new shawwal to pray for the progress of the Ekiti state and Nigeria.
“I use this opportunity to felicitate with our brothers and sisters in Islam for completing the holy month of Ramadan, and I enjoin all Muslim faithfuls in our dear state to pray for the peace and progress of the state, he stated.
“We need peace in this country and our brothers and sisters should intercede for us using the importance of this season” Eleka said.
Prof. Olusola further bemoaned the agonies being unleashed on Nigerians, especially in the South West region, which has led to Kidnappings, Banditry and other social menace which has made people refugees in their fatherland. He expressed hope that the observance of this celebration would foster deeper understanding among Nigerians regardless of faith and religious beliefs.
“As a feast of great importance to Muslims, the Eidel-Fitr has become a familiar occasion even to the Non-Muslims, Prof. Olusola said.
Therefore, I urge Nigerians to reflect on the virtues of humility, patience and generosity that Eidel-Fitr signifies.
To our Muslim brothers and sisters, I wish you a joyous and meaningful celebration,” he concluded.
