A socio-political group, Ekiti Movement For Emancipation and Liberty, EMFEL, has called on PDP stakeholders in Ekiti to hold Chairman of the party, Otunba Bisi Kolawole, responsible if PDP loses the 2022 forthcoming governorship election to the APC in the state.
The group equally berated the former spokesperson to Mr Ayo Fayose, who doubles as spokesperson of Bisi Kolawole Campaign Organization, Lere Olayinka, saying he should be warned and stop parading himself as an element who can suppress the divine ambition of Professor Olusola Eleka in the state.
EMFEL explained that it has it on good record that Mr Olayinka has been lately attacking aspirants who have refused to drop their ambitions for Bisi Kolawole, who was solely adopted by Fayose.
A statement signed by its Coordinator, who Hails from Emure, Comrade Sola Faleye, stated that Prof. Kolapo Olusola, who is the leading aspirant in Osoko Political Assembly, is bent on pursuing his divine governorship ambition to a logical conclusion.
The statement read in part: “After all efforts to suppress Prof. Olusola Eleka to step down his ambition had proved abortive, Lere Olayinka has deployed his cyber-dogs against him on social media with insulting stickers and derogatory statements.
“Before Lere Olayinka and his paymaster destroy the party In Ekiti state, it is important and imperative to raise alarm on the impending crises that may tear the party apart before the forthcoming elections.
“Lere who is known for harassing and murdering characters of political leaders who are not in tandem with Fayose on policies, has started spewing venom against other aspirants. The Chairman, Otunba Bisi Kolawole, should salvage the party from impending collapse instead of keeping quiet and watch the party crumble under his watch.
“We are very sure that the State Chairman cannot deny the knowledge of series of attacks on the personality of Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka, Engineer Segun Oni, Distinguished Senator Olujimi, and other leaders of the party on different platforms by his Campaign Spokesperson.
“We want to also make it abundantly clear that Bisi Kolawole should be informed that the future of the party is rested on him; hence any character that will drag it in the mud should be called to order.
“What would have caused spur-of-the-moment attacks on leaders in the same party if not for frustration and fear of defeat at the primary election?
“One would have expected fair play from all stakeholders to avert terrible fallout after the primary election, but Lere and his toothless bulldogs have decided to create division in the party with their unguided utterances.”
The group further noted that it is regrettable, sad and childish to have seen Lere Olayinka, who impersonated as Southwest Spokesperson before the Congress, descend heavily on Gov. Seyi Makinde, who happens to be the only Governor PDP has in the SouthWest.
“Not only that, Senator Abiodun Olujimi would never forget his derogatory words on her,” it added.
While calling the party hierarchy in the Southwest and NWC not to turn a deaf ear to the yearnings of party members in Ekiti on genuine reconciliation as a panacea to winning the 2022 governorship election, EMFEL said Olayinka should be cautioned on his voyage of self-destruction.
