Man U tops EPL transfer chart for 2019

Incredibly, newly-promoted Aston Villa almost matched United to become the next biggest spenders with a £144.5m outlay on 12 players.

Premier League clubs splurged approximately £1.4billion on 99 permanent signings over the summer.
The sum total eclipses last year’s spend by £158m.

The £1billion threshold has now been broken for the fourth year running.
Manchester United were the biggest Premier League spenders this summer with their £148m outlay and Harry Maguire was the most expensive acquisition at £80m.

Arsenal were to rumoured to have just £45m to spend this summer but that was soon dispelled.

The Gunners smashed their club transfer record to bring in Nicolas Pepe from Lille for £72m, surpassing the £55m spent on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in 2018.
Champions Manchester City spent heavily again, adding Rodri and Joao Cancelo to their ranks for a combined £122.5m.
Everton and Tottenham were the only other clubs to spend over £100m.
Norwich were the Premier League’s lowest spenders, outlaying just £1.1m.
