NCC: Lawan led Senate Confirms Saraki’s Reject

The nomination of Aliyu Saidu Abubakar as non-executive commissioner of the Nigerian Communications Commission has been confirmed by the Senate

  • The previous 8th Senate led by Dr Bukola Saraki had rejected Abubakar’s nomination in 2016
  • Three other nominees were also confirmed by the upper legislative chamber

The nomination of Aliyu Saidu Abubakar as non-executive commissioner of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has been confirmed by the Senate.

Abubakar, who hails from the north-east geopolitical zone, had been rejected in 2016 during the tenure of former Senate president Bukola Saraki, Daily Trust reports.

Headlinenews365 gatherered that the nominations of Eng Uba Maska as executive commissioner for reappointment, Professor Millionaire Abowei as non-executive director and Abdulazeez Mohammed Salman, were also confirmed by the upper legislative chamber.

Maska hails from the north-west, while Abowei and Salman are from the south-south and north-central respectively.
