COMMUNIQUE BY THE PDP NATIONAL YOUTH LEAGUE ON THE FORTHCOMING PDP NIGER STATE CONGRESS BILLED FOR SATURDAY 7TH AUGUST 2021.
The Peoples Democratic party(PDP) National Youth league at its Emergency National Executive committee meeting after exhaustive and extensive deliberations, amongst other issues X-ray the forthcoming PDP state congress in Niger state and issued the following communique:
1.WE Commend the National Working committee NWC of the PDP for fixing 7th August 2021 as the new date for the state congress after 16months of no state working committee (SWC) in Niger state.
2.WE Urge the National Working committee NWC of the PDP to stand firm and ensure there’s a hitch free, transparent and credible congress for the state.
3.WE affirm that this congress is a watershed on the credibility of the NWC. It will be unacceptable that it seeks to hold the APC Government accountable for its failures and inability to govern the country whereas it cannot conduct a simple congress in a single Niger state.
4.WE have therefore resolves to deploy congress monitors across the state to provide us an unbiased assessment on the credibility of the process and disseminate same accordingly to the Nigerian people.
5.WE implore the Prince Uche Secondus led National working committee NWC that while it has a date with history, it must stand firm on the side of the people of Niger state to elect state Executives of their choice without let or hindrance, manipulations or contrived outcomes.
6.The PDP National Youth league urges all the stakeholders in the state to eschew rancour and cooperate with the electoral panel that will be enpanelled to conduct the state congress.
- Finally, WE admonished the panel that it must like Caesars wife, be above board and MUST not only conduct a congress that’s credible, it must be transparent, seen to be free, seen to be fair, adjudged as such by observers and monitors, and indeed acceptable to the PDP party faithfuls and followers in Niger state and beyond.
