Since the media appearance of the PDP National Youth Leader, Comrade SKE Udeh-Okoye, calling for the resignation of the national chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, the media have been agog with a lot of paid campaigns of calumny against the National Youth Leader.
While it is not in our place to respond to all fallacious write-ups against Comrade SKE Udeh-Okoye, it is expedient that we put issues in their true perspective. We cannot respond to every lie, but we want party members to be aware that these lies will continue to emanate from the coven of those leading our party to perdition.
The call by the National Youth Leader, Comrade SKE Udeh-Okoye, for the resignation of Prince Uche Secondus as the national chairman of the PDP is not based on any personal grudge or parochial sentiment. The call is altruistic because it is hinged on a desire to see to the success and progress of PDP.
Since the inception of the tenure of Prince Uche Secondus as the national chairman of the PDP, he has not gone to any PDP or non-PDP State on a membership mobilization drive. He has also adamantly refused to listen to advise from well-meaning party leaders on how to steer the affairs of the PDP.
Prince Uche Secondus has also failed to astutely and wisely manage the internal conflicts and contradictions rocking the PDP. This inability to manage conflict has led to mass defection of PDP leaders to the ruling APC, thereby weakening the opposition.
The PDP governors, party leaders, members of the NWC, NEC, and BOT have all tried to manage Prince Uche Secondus and his abysmal leadership style in the hope that he will harken to the voice of reason and change his style, but unfortunately, this seems not to be the case as he seems entrenched in his destructive style of leadership that has driven the PDP into a hole of despondency, dismay, disillusionment, and despair.
It is strictly for these reasons and other malfeasance, nothing personal, that the PDP National Youth Leader, Comrade SKE Udeh-Okoye, felt it was both an ethical and patriotic duty to PDP party members and Nigerians to call for the resignation of Prince Uche Secondus so that another capable hand can start the process of rebuilding and healing the party.
With a corruption case in the EFCC hanging over his head, it is morally and ethically wrong for Prince Uche Secondus to continue as the national chairman of the main opposition party, because such a baggage can and will mortgage the chances of the party at the polls.
This quest to rescue PDP from collapse at the hands of Prince Uche Secondus should be the passion of every loyal leader and member of the PDP, and together, with all hands on deck, we will resuscitate our beloved party.
